Prompt Paper question (due Thursday, 10.23.08): How can inanimate objects such as those observed in our still life be used to promote political ideology? Describe at least two historical antecedents. Must be word-processed.
Still-life drawing series (due Tuesday, 10.22.08): Students will complete a series of charcoal drawings based on their observations of the still life in the middle of the room. These should be in the spirit of the studies we did from the model at the beginning of the marking period. I’ll be looking for the following characteristics:
- 18 ” x 24″
- Haptic
- Evidence of the eraser as a mark-making tool
- Aggressive/assertive
- 4 drawings for single period students
- 8 drawings for double period students
