Materiality, Part 2

I gave each of you similar materials to create your assemblage.

  • chicken wire
  • a piece of wood from a salvaged crate
  • burlap
  • shop wrag
  • rope
  • twine

I also asked you to embellish the surface somehow with color and to treat this one as a wall piece. Remember this is about the voice of the materials coming together and not about making something referential.

  • Your next step will be to bring in 5 or 6 materials that you gathered to create a piece with.
  • You will then bring 5 or 6 materials in for a classmate to use in a construction.
